About PLEI Connect

PLEI Connect is a project for the PLEI community across Canada to share best practices for public legal education and information organizations. Its goal is to help identify and share technology tools to effectively deliver PLEI services.

This project evolved from the Just a Click Away conference in Vancouver in February, 2011 (www.justaclickaway.ca). PLEI Connect tools include:

  • An online community of practice. Led by PovNet, pleiconnect.ca (this website) provides a private online web site for PLEI practitioners to have frank conversations and share experiences and learning about the use of technology and PLEI on an ongoing basis.

  • A series of webinar broadcasts. Led by Éducaloi, we will hold a series of webinars where PLEI practitioners, managers, and funders from across Canada can learn about key topics relating to technology and PLEI.

  • A series of hands-on web labs. Led by CLEO, we will hold a series of hands-on interactive workshops over the web aimed at PLEI practitioners who work directly with online technologies.

  • Documentation of best practices. Led by Courthouse Libraries BC, we will create online PLEI best practices guides, developed from the webinar broadcasts and hands-on web labs, as well as the exchanges in the community of practice.PLEI Connect’s purpose is to provide a space where PLEI practitioners in Canada can have frank conversations and share experiences and learning about technology and PLEI on an ongoing basis.
